Actually Fly

Three birds are sitting on a pier in the Sheboygan harbor and one decides to fly away, how many are left?

...Two?

No, there are still three birds.

Deciding to do something and actually doing something are two different things. Intention has no power when in the same breath as action. Accountability is action.

Action is the catalyst for positive change.

  • Smile to become happy.

  • Buy the person behind you a cup of coffee to feel joy.

  • Carry yourself confidently to feel confident.

  • Take the chance.

  • Do what you said you would do.

As famous philosopher William James said, "I don't sing because I'm happy; I'm happy because I sing."

What have you been intending to do that you haven’t put into action? What have you been waiting on—for the illusionary "perfect time"—sitting on the pier staring out into the magical  waters of possibility? (Secret: There is never a perfect time—that's just your comfort zone talking). What positive emotions do you want to feel? Small steps are still action, still motion. The reality is, successful people do what other people say they will do—or only dream about. Greatness is in the action.

Get started. Go be great—Actually Fly.
